Description

POSITION GOALS:

Install, maintain and repair or rebuild machine tools, attachments, auxiliaries and mechanisms such as clutches, chucks, coolant pumps, tapping and multiple drill heads, working form complex drawings and specifications in accordance to standard practice. Diagnose problems, disassemble, determine extent of repairs necessary and repair, refit or replace parts. Assemble and adjust. Make simple replacement parts such as shafts, bearing bushings and lever arms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS include the following:

* Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance of facility and equipment.
* Repairs a wide verity of machinery and assist in the installation of new equipment.
* Arranges for outside contractors to assist with breakdowns and special projects. Oversees contractors while on company property.
* Diagnoses and trouble shoots mechanical problems.
* Works with EHS coordinator to maintain a safe work environment.
* Performs plumbing, electrical and carpentry work as needed.
* Certified in the use of the Fork Lift and Platform Lift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Four to ten years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

The main focus of the position is to do repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of CNC and Manual machines, Haas, Brothers, Takisawa, Daewoo and more. CNC repair experience a must. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic with the ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Some of the essential duties and responsibilities are as follows: Must have the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues, have the ability to change bearings and ball screws, general building maintenance, plumbing, sheet metal and light electrical.
