Position Details Experience with modeling and design of lithium niobate modulators for telecom (10G, 40G, 100G, NRZ and PSK formats), CATV, and Government/Aerospace products (fiber-optic gyro and microwave link applications). Working knowledge of optical and RF waveguide physics. Experience with Beam Propagation Modeling of optical waveguide devices and Coplanar Waveguide RF electrode design. Experience with modulator performance modeling (Monte-Carlo, s-parameter, eye diagrams, constellation diagrams).

Designer will report into lithium niobate chip design group, creating chip designs for foundry photomasks. Designer will also assist in data analysis of DOE s, other experiments, and initial production data using Excel, MiniTab, or JMP software.
Required Qualifications PhD in physics or engineering required.

Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred. Designer will be required to enroll in Black Belt Six Sigma class on site if certification does not exist.
