Job Description
Accenture Pharmaceutical Research & Development Consulting professionals help clients become high-performance R&D organizations by applying industry best practices across all aspects of research and development (pre-clinical through launch). This includes all domain areas (discovery, preclinical, clinical, regulatory), processes and technologies used in the discovery and development of pharmaceuticals and medical products. Example projects include designing and implementing technologies used to discover and develop compounds and devices (analytical tools, EDC, CTMS, etc.), post merger organizational and technology rationalization, and R&D operating model design and optimization.
The R&D Pharmacovigilance Manager will manage a R&D safety project (typically a safety systems implementation or integration) and will be responsible for the day to day management of all activities, often including those of clients and vendors. These responsibilities include schedule / timelines, issues and risks, scope and budget. The manager is the accountable Accenture party for delivery of a solution to our clients, and is usually the day-to-day lead on a project for all parties. Additional responsibilities will include developing Accenture consultants and analysts, identifying and developing business opportunities, helping manage client relationships and accounts, and contributing to the development of Accenture's Pharmaceutical R&D consulting practice by taking on a practice development role.
Our work is performed on site with our clients, and depending on candidate location this position may require travel up to 80%, typically weekly, Monday - Thursday.
Qualifications
Basic Requirments
* 6+ years of consulting experience in an IT/systems development environment.
* 3+ years of experience working with drug safety or pharmacovigilance applications (Oracle Argus), safety system interfaces, regulatory reporting, drug and medical term mapping/encoding, and E2B import/export modules.
* 3+ years experience managing a team of multiple direct reports, clients and vendors.
* Bachelors degree.
Preferred Skills
* Understanding of the pharmaceutical R&D value chain from discovery to submission.
* Experience with industry-standards such as ICH E2B, Volume 9A, CFR 21 Part 11, GxP and validated systems lifecycles.
* Experience leading a systems implementation project in the R&D space, and a demonstrated ability to manage vendor selection, scope, budget, schedule and issues and risks in a validated environment.
* The ability to identify and articulate the value of new business opportunities.
* Proven ability to grow and develop people.
