3M Purification Inc. is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of a comprehensive line of filtration products for the separation, clarification, and purification of fluids and gases. Its proprietary products are used in drinking water, healthcare, and industrial markets.

3M Purification Inc is currently seeking an Engineering Specialist located in Meriden, CT. Major responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

* Lead major technical programs that results in innovative applications and extensions of existing and new technologies
* Responsible for system design and integration for Food Service / Commercial applications
* Technical liaison to Marketing and Sales to develop applications and provide solutions to customers
* Responsible for IP Development and understanding of competitive and technology landscapes within the Food Service / Commercial Markets.
* Create a commercial advantage through activities in one or more of the following areas: a) broadening a technical base; b) developing a fundamental understanding of the technical base; c) applying new technology in innovative product/process concepts and demonstrating feasibility; (d) taking the initiative to develop new technologies or products and (e) providing significant support on products to clients and/or customers to expand opportunities and reduce risks

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or higher in science or engineering from an accredited university
* Minimum of five years of engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Masters degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
* Experience with New Product/Technology Introduction (NPI/NTI)
* Technical experience in filtration
* Ability to develop prototypes and test methods/equipment
* Experience working with regulatory requirements and standards
* Experience with intellectual property
* Experience with mechanical product design and 3D CAD systems
* Experience with Finite Element Analysis
* Proven project management track record
