Description

The (Senior) Financial Analyst for Global Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for gathering financial information for both budget and actual results for The Nielsen Company and performing related financial analysis on this financial information. The individual in this role will assist in preparing the annual budgets, analysis of actual results and working with other financial leaders to meet operating targets. A successful candidate will possess practical experience in analyzing operating performance for a large corporation with strong analytical and communication skills. The candidate is expected to disseminate information to the businesses, to partner with other financial leaders on various company wide initiatives and analysis, and help the senior corporate finance team to drive results.

The Manager, FP&A will:

- Assist in preparation and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts.

- Monthly variance analysis of Actual's versus plans for various Nielsen businesses with ideas on improving the actual results.

- Analysis of key KPIs on a monthly/quarterly basis - These include analysis of revenue, Headcount, and expenses.

- Consolidate and analyze submissions of monthly/quarterly Nielsen corporate requests by working with operational teams and group finance leaders.

- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts for Corporate overhead cost centers. Work with functional owners on addressing negative trends.

- Provide quarterly MD&A analysis for Nielsen external reporting purposes as needed.

- Candidate must quickly become rapidly familiar with the various systems: SAP/BW and HFM

Qualifications

* College/University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics;
* High energy, excellent communication, motivational and analytic skills
* Expert knowledge/experience with Excel

Preferred:

* Detailed understanding of financial consolidation/analytical software required - familiarity with Hyperion Financial Management or Enterprise, SAP and Businesswarehouse software a plus
* Minimum of 4-6 years of financial reporting or business analysis experience
