Job Description

The Web Analytics Specialist is responsible for reporting web usage data, conducting strategic analysis and identifying long-term business objectives and opportunities for Gartner's internal and client-facing websites. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in web analytics in a B2B or publishing environment with outstanding client communication and presentation skills. Key responsibilities include:

Define and implement the web analytics strategy, define reports, track progress and trends, provide recommendations, and effectively communicate to clients and other team members and supervisors.

Perform in depth research and analysis of web usage, review behavioral trends and statistics, analyze and identify trends and correlations, and perform competitive analysis.

Provide detailed quantitative analysis as well as scheduled and ad hoc reports to support key decision makers in understanding usage and behavior of users.

On a daily basis, access and interpret: all traffic to Gartner.com, affiliated sites, registrations, ecommerce traffic and revenue, online video traffic, geographic trends, and comparisons to other competitor s sites.

Assist the Product, Events and Marketing teams with defining key metrics for product/site success and developing business cases (including ROI); financial justification for new service offerings and enhancements; identify new product opportunities through data interpretation.

?Work with the Production team to optimize features and functionality around usage, page yield and relevance and to set benchmarks and establish analytics for key performance criteria.

Define and execute surveys and online programs that provide insight into the performance of all Gartner.com web sites and online marketing programs.

Build functional expertise in analytical tools, database and online marketing, and other infrastructure requirements.

Deliver regular reports to internal departments addressing important data needs based on business objectives.

This position requires clear communication with stakeholders in order to discuss business objectives that are aligned with their SEO / SEM campaigns.

Job Requirements

BS or BA in quantitative field (math, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, psychology)

Six years professional experience with a minimum of four years in web analytics

Experience with Web Analytics tools required (Unica, CoreMetrics, WebTrends, Google Analytics, Clicktale, etc.)

Basic level HTML and JavaScript knowledge required

Expertise in SEO/SEM analytics

Understanding of enterprise Internet business models and online processes, terminology, concepts and strategies

Hands on experience with statistical modeling techniques and/or data visualization

Knowledge of user experience design

Demonstrated hands on quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and technical skills

Skilled at working with various business partners to elicit, clarify and document measurable goals for web sites/features success and to incorporate web usage data in decision making processes

Highly proficient at analyzing and interpreting data; able to synthesize information from a variety of sources and translate into effective and actionable reports and recommendations

Excellent communication skills, ability to present and explain data to business partners and senior management
