Maintenance Supervisor

To build and maintain a team approach through respect and communication at all levels. Under general supervision from the Maintenance Manager, this position will create and implement a written preventative maintenance plan, a computerized parts inventory and ordering system, including a database of repair and operational manuals, and coordinate the building of a Maintenance training system with the Maintenance Department management.

hours: 3pm to 11pm

Performs essential functions with a high degree of individual initiative with indirect supervision.
Operates within policy and procedure guidelines established by management.
Assists in planning and establishing work schedules to meet maintenance departmental labor requirements, including controlling departmental labor costs such as overtime.
Ensures that individual mechanics complete all tasks associated with the P.M. program and other assigned duties related to maintenance programs.
Reviews and follow-up on identified equipment issues or parts inquiries from the plant or maintenance sources.
Collects, processes, and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as directed by management.
Collects, processes, and reports Departmental Scorecard information as directed by management.
Coordinates with supervisors from other departments to run a safe and efficient operation.
Directly responsible for the coordination of training activities in the Maintenance Department.
Directly responsible for maintaining core plant systems including but not limited to wastewater, steam, refrigeration, heating, etc.
Responsible to review the completion of assigned tasks within the prescribed period or deadline.
Establishes a time frame for the completion of routine tasks such as pm activities and repairs.
Develops a training curriculum and syllabus for all equipment in above mentioned departments.
Develops a maintenance training program. ? Assists in data entry and implementation of the departmental Computer-based Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Utilizing CMMS, develops a spare parts inventory and ordering system.
Utilizing CMMS, develops a Preventative Maintenance program.
Delegates job tasks to assigned personnel and monitors their progress and effectiveness.
Develops relationships with employees to ensure a team oriented operation.
Attends and participates actively in departmental meetings.
Participates in safety initiatives and actively promotes safety throughout the company.
Conducts Behavioral Based Safety Observations as directed by management.
Participates in quality initiatives and seeks to maintain the highest quality products for our customers.
Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Manager or Director of Plant Operations.


Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science or Arts Diploma required or equivalent training and
Experience Requirements -- Basic computer skills utilizing programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
Experience with Bigfoot CMMS a plus.
Must be familiar with and be able to operate all machinery and equipment in the assigned departments.
Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Language Requirements --English required, Polish and Spanish desirable.
Mathematical Requirements -- Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Physical Requirements --Ability to lift 50 lbs, Bending, climbing, lifting, etc.
Work Environment -- All plant environments, including, but not limited to, cold storage warehouse, dry storage warehouse, and high noise environments.
