2021 Summer Actuarial Intern - Hartford Health

Milliman, one of the world’s largest providers of actuarial and related products and services, is looking for motivated applicants for an internship opportunity at our Windsor, Connecticut office during the summer of 2021. We offer competitive pay and the opportunity to work on real world assignments in a fast-paced, exhilarating health consulting practice.
This is a temporary Seasonal position, from mid-June to mid-August.
Candidates should be bright, talented, and hard-working individuals with strong math and analytical skills and an interest in pursuing actuarial exams. Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Preferred applicants are those who are working towards a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, a related field, or an actuarial designation
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple types of projects at one time
- Self-motivated and inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office products
- Prior internship or work experience is a plus but is not a requirement for this position

Interns will contribute to a wide variety of exciting and interesting projects, including:
- Pricing, reserving, valuation, and financial projections for Medicare plans and various public and private sector clients.Providing medical and pharmacy benefit design strategy support for insurance carriers, state health exchanges, and employers.
